Overview

Kiss Me, Kate!, April 1979Kiss Me, Kate is a Tony Award-winning musical with a book by Samuel and Bella Spewack and music and lyrics by Cole Porter. It won the first Tony Award for "Best Musical" in 1949.

This was the first production to credit any form of 'Sound'.

Several reviewers commented on bright exciting sets and sparkling song & dance routines but felt that much of the acting by the supporting cast was slow and uninteresting!
